1961 Epiphone Windsor Hollowbody
ON SALE! SAVE $500! Here's a great deal on a real vintage 60s archtop! Epiphones have always been one of the best bang for the buck deals out there. Made in the USA in the same factory as the most collectible Gibsons, these guitars are a way to get classic tone on a budget. This Windsor is no exception. Basically a fancy version of Gibson's ES-125/225 or a thinline ES-175, the Windsor has top notch specs and appointments. The thinline hollow body is made of maple for good tone. The 24.75 inch scale mahogany neck features a rosewood fingerboard with cool pearloid oval inlays. Dual mini humbuckers dish out vintage tone. An upgraded patent # Tuneomatic bridge, trapeze tailpiece and recent Kluson Deluxe tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is Epi's classic sunburst and is set off by gold plated hardware. A great looking and sounding guitar! This Windsor plays great. The neck is straight, the action is good and the frets are fine. The pickups sound awesome. Everything works as it should. The tuners look to be repros and the bridge top has been changed to an older patent # Tuneomatic. There was a Bigsby on the guitar at one time so there's one filled hole in the top. Nothing major. The tailpiece may have been replated. May even be a repro. Not sure. Condition wise, the guitar is very solid for its age. It shows checking, scratches and dents and dings as you would expect of a 49 year old instrument. Good looking overall. Comes in a recent Epiphone hardshell case.
