1953 Gibson L-50 Archtop

Great Gibson tone and feel. The L-50 is one of the best deals out there in a solid, carved archtop. The same scale length and general size as an ES-175, these guitars are comfortable to play and have a nice, bright tone. Golden age Gibson quality and workmanship. The top is solid spruce while the back and sides are solid maple. The 24.75 inch scale mahogany neck features a bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. These are the same inlays used on Les Pauls of the era. Kluson tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is Gibson's classic sunburst set off by a laminated pickguard and nickel hardware. A great guitar for the bucks.

This Gibson has a bright punchy sound and plays well. The action is good, the frets are fine and the neck is straight. It looks to have seen little play time. Condition wise, it is in nice shape for its age. It shows normal checking, scratches and some minor indents and dings. There's a little seam separation between the back and the binding near the heel. Nothing to worry about. It's very stable. One bent tuner as well. A very nice looking example with tons of eye appeal. Comes in an old, non original hardshell case.
