1960's Harmony H-63 Rocket!
Vintage cool! The Harmony Rocket was one of the Chicago titan's most popular thinline electrics. They offer cool looks and tone at a great price. This 60s example is no exception. The hollow body is made of laminated maple for good looks and bright tone. The maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlay. A single Rowe Dearmond single coil pickups deliver big tone. Dearmond made the famous pickups as used in Gretsch and Guild guitars of the 50s and 60s. Open back tuners, a floating rosewood bridge and a simple floating tailpiece round out the hardware. The finish is a classic sunburst lacquer that really accentuates the wood. A really cool looking instrument with tons of vintage vibe!
This Harmony plays nicely with cool vintage tone. The neck is straight and the frets are good. The pickup is bright and clear delivering cool rockabilly and roots rock sounds. A fun guitar to play. This is a nice used guitar. It shows average wear as you would expect from a 60s guitar. Normal checking, scratches, dents and dings. Still very cool looking. Comes in a recent gigbag..
These are great guitars with cool looks and distinctive tones. Really sleepers on the vintage market as they are nicely made and very cool looking. Built in the USA, these are a downright steal when compared to Gibsons, Guilds, or Gretsches of the era. A really hip instrument.
